Is ADHD affecting your family?
ADHD can impact everyone in a family – spouse, parent, or sibling
Whether you’re a concerned spouse, or a parent to a child with ADHD, I help increase understanding and resilience, and offer easy-to-apply helpful tools
All in a safe, understanding, and confidential space
ADHD’s challenges don’t respect boundaries or geography
The effects of ADHD on people are similar, regardless of country, religious affiliation, or community
It impacts relationships between friends and peers, between family members, and in many cases ex-spouses too
I can help
School-related and social issues
Some schools and people don’t understand, accommodate, or support those with ADHD
Instead, they often punish, and socially isolate, and apply policies that are unintentionally discriminatory and lead to underperformance
Aggression or violence? Over-sensitivity?
Many adults and kids with ADHD are almost constantly stressed and anxious, and in fight or flight mode
This leads to being emotionally hyper-sensitive and, in some cases aggressive too, often as a subconscious defence mechanism
Low self-esteem? Depression?
Children and adults with ADHD – and their parents or spouses – often feel stuck, misunderstood, and develop low self-esteem or even depression
Unaddressed, this can worsen over time
What can we do about these challenges?
Simple, practical tools can help. Especially when done consistently
I help choose the right tools for you, and support you with consistency and accountability
During our holidays, when it got hard, we looked at each other and said: ‘What would Mike do?’ Then we did that. And my mother in law was impressed at the results!! Mike, when can we get a bracelet to remind us?
Our process
We’ll typically meet every three to six weeks, for up to an hour
We’ll identify tools and techniques that can work for your situation, and put them into practice
And I’ll support you with accountability and consistency and, if needed, with a warm, listening ear and safe space too
